Xbox Premium and 7 games for £269.99 at hmv

HMV have an offer on at the moment:

Xbox Premium + Blue Dragon + PGR3 + Live Unplugged + Table Tennis + Extra Wireless controller.

Which compared to anything else I've seen lately is a great offer. But (in York at least) they will essentially give you £138 of Xbox stuff plus the xbox (and they'll let you top it up).

I got Halo 3 (on preorder), Gears of War, Rainbow Six Vegas, a vertical stand and the Xbox premium for about £276

But you could get 6 2 for £40 games and one other cheap game for the price. Hence 7 games.

I think in certain stores you may be restricted to the games they offer but in York there are "other games available" stickers everywhere.

so let me get this right - you're saying that you can haggle with the shop to change the deal to the same value but different items?

i called my local hmv (derby) and this deal wasnt mentioned?
i may have to go in and ask...

who did you put you propsition to in stiore and how did you put it?

in theory i like the sound of this.

Sorry -would have replied sooner but haven't had proper internet access.

In York you don't really have to haggle - I was immediately told I could swap games, and then it was revealed that what was really on offer was £138 or so of xbox stuff of my choice, including preorders - it was even suggested by that staff I could preorder Halo 3 or Fifa.

I'm sure it depends on the store - I imagine it is up to the manager specifically what they will offer but the discount barcode is presumably national so you might be able to get this deal anywhere if you are persistent.

The offer still seemed to be on earlier today.

thanks for the reply ajp, but i had a moment of madness when i saw a good deal in gamestation and went for an elite bundle.
elite +forza2 +blue dragon +extra white wireless. --- £315
traded some psp games in that i got cheap on the net and brought the price down to £284
got gamestation to pricematch the trade-in with blockbuster (£26) so they gave me £27 trade-in for blue dragon and i got call of duty 2 + PGR3 +play and charge kit 2nd hand for £27.99 so all in all
it's cost me £291 (trade ins included- £316 without) for an elite 3 top games, and extra wireless and a play/charge kit.
