No axe to grind, just mildly interested/intrigued.
Trapped in traffic earlier I passed by a hairdressing salon. They had a big sign in the window advertising: Apprenticeships .... young school leaver required ...
Is that illegal?

it is to do with funding - it is usually only for 16-18 year olds, although older applicants can self fund their apprenticeship.0

Maybe because we have a law against age discrimination?
Any way, in the general run of things, advertising for someone young would be age discrimination and therefore unlawful but, as DR says, this opportunity is likely to be because of state funding and therefore justifiable.0 -
