    afternoon, out all day, catch up later but a quick query - something for the maths geniuses to ponder over

    Morrisons are having yet another relaunch of their match and more card - it was inevitable, they delvalued it by doing away with the matching bit and then people lost interest again because even earning 100 bonus points at a time it took years to earn enough for a voucher :(

    https://www.morrisons.com/more/

    The general shopper though, who uses M for their weekly shopping and buys £40 or £70 at a time, will be collecting a few extra points. For them, it will be a little extra that will be 'worth' it - even though they are getting nowhere near a good percentage return and are spending far more money than we do.

    In short, this isn't aimed at us. We are not the demographic target audience.

    That said, shopping for most people isn't about trying to make a profit or as much money as we can like it is for us:rotfl:.

    Hello Jamsponge:wave::hello::hello:

    Just wondering what savvy thinks of Fiona Bruce reading the 6 o clock news in her trainers:rotfl:

    Anyone else get an Upbeat voucher in the post today?

    I hadn't even noticed whether she was wearing trainers tbh. I was more about the unusualness of her being there at all on a Tuesday, these days. And, as you know, I like "unusual" news readers rather than ones that become boringly regular. As soon as they cease being on-air very much, I want them back - and then when they are, too much, I want them gone again:rotfl:.

    I'm all for the 'greater informality' if that's what it is. I don't see why we are too formal and 'stuffy' in some situations like it is. Some people see this as a socially-constructed idea of "professionalism" though - a concept that does not exist beyond the minds of the people that consider something to be "professional" (or "unprofessional"):rotfl::rotfl::D. That said, I don't see why anyone doesn't do anything, or nothing, that does not harm others and there is just no logic to it at all. There's no logic as to why we wear shoes, trainers or any other footwear. Not all people who have Asperger's will take the same approach as I nowadays, after long thinking about it, take. However, the issues over "appropriate" or other clothing are mainly concerns of neurotypical people I feel, who create all these illogical 'rules' - that they then fail to comply with themselves and comment when they perceive them to be breached by others - I am not aware* of any rule that says she cannot wear trainers - and for whom impressions and how you come across are more important than the reality.

    Anyway, people will say they are one thing and actually are not. People say they aren't racially biased, for example, but tell them to do a task to select a person they might like to date, but first present them with a different task where they are to see how many times a ball is passed whilst a white person walks across the screen, or a black person for some other people, and many people will fail to notice the person at all and, where they do, are much more likely to notice the white person than the black person. So, people like to think they aren't racist but in fact people's subconscious mind filters things out and they do not even reach their consciousness. I'm taking all this from a website I've seen recently and probably plagiarising a little as I can't remember where it was.

    And, of course, it's a huge taboo today to call anyone "racist" at all - that word does provoke a huge reaction. If anyone is to be called a "racist" you need pretty good evidence before you do so.

    And whilst I'm in favour of more informality, unfortunately and not of choice I come across as very formal in situations even where informality is expected (or even required) because I didn't get the concept of a distinction between the two when I was a child and didn't understand fully when one applied and when another did - I think about what I say, before I even say anything, have an odd and pedantic language for this reason I suspect, whereas NT people just act naturally. Their brains just make them say things without realising, whereas all of mine is often processed in advance and thought about academically before I say it. Which usually stops me saying a lot of "informal" things and I have lost/not gained friends, I think, because of it.

    So, wonder no more about what I think about Fiona Bruce! I do think Norman Smith should try to stop clapping his hands together when he's in for Victoria Derbyshire though. I fully support freedom of expression when it does not cause me a personal emotional offence reaction (ha, there is always a limit!:D) but it is a bit offputting especially to an Aspie who gets easily distracted like myself:D:D so I think he should control it a bit. I bet no-one else has noticed it and it's not been a problem for them, but... you will now!:D:rotfl: Well, it's not a problem, but it's just a tiny bit distracting and a little bit of extra noise that obscures minor parts of what he's saying in words to us. (I had to add that clarification about "saying in words" there as I don't know if his clapping hands might "say" something to us itself. I think it's his enthusiasm, which is quite welcome, but on the other hand, dear me...)

    *but I never would be - I was never give a written rules guidebook, that no-one ever follows and picks and chooses at random and in a completely unpredictable which parts they will follow and on what occasions and decides at whim to dispense with others whilst applying them, again totally at seeming whim, on other unexplained occasions)

    Next update, whenever that is. I'd probably leave till Thursday morning to be on the 'safe' side, or even to the weekend as no harm if it's today's or Wednesday's collection. We can't account for random full price SELs or whatever in stores or not.

    Oh (sighs), I'd better be prepared to stand there for ages tomorrow trying to take the full range:(:rotfl:.
