It would be when I've been slapped with a big tax bill :rotfl: HMRC screwed up my tax for last year and now I need to pay back £600, after them deducting 50% off my wages last week. big-cry.gif~c200

OUCH! :( I've had the opposite with OH. HMRC thinks he had 2 jobs after registering him as doing therapeutic work and then him starting proper work and not cancelling the therapeutic work. I reckon they owe him around £1k or so. Very easy to sort out online now :T

Nice one :T In all fairness I've been fortunate, usually I'm claiming back tax for not earning enough :o One day I'll get a proper job :)

 That's not good. Won't they let you pay back a bit at a time? Seems bit unfair if they messed up, but then we are talking HMRC....

it's all too confusing. I filled my self employed thing in for last tax year and it said I owed £3 odd. I can't possibly have but I obviously ticked a wrong box somewhere. £3 not worth arguing over :o
No need for a proper job if you're doing alright as you are :D Do what makes you happy. As long as you're not starving or homeless it's all good.

The options they have given me are, pay it all back at once or over 3 years. Due to my tax code being spread across 3 employers, apparently it would be too difficult to reduce the codes (after I spent 10 minutes explaining to them £500 allowance in one job wasn't feasible as it's my main source of work). At least it's given me a kick up the bum to finally ebay some crap :rotfl:

How's the weekend panning out for you all? Sunburnt yet? :D
