                    Hi all,
Firstly - I have read through a lot of stickies and previous posts. I'm not sure if I actually understand less or more than when I started. This is an amazing resource with contributions from very knowledgeable people, but between acronyms and different situations, I find myself completely lost.
My situation is as follows: I rent a parking space from a tenant in a block of flats (we have 2 cars and only one allocated space - the tenant has an allocated space but no car, so I have an informal agreement to pay her cash every month). Permits are required to be displayed (by order of signage of the private company who 'manage' the parking, AM Parking Services Ltd). My permit was not adequately displayed (it fell from my dash and I didn't realise) so I received a windscreen ticket.
I emailed the company saying I didn't think it was fair due to the circumstances but they rejected this. I then ignored all communication from them, under the impression that they would get bored and go away. I have now received a letter from Gladstones Solicitors worded pretty much the same as the debt collection letters - that legal action may be taken and charging me £120.
I now know ignoring the letters was the wrong thing to do. It is clear that they fee is extortionate - the company have not 'lost' money as it is not a pay to park car park, and I was not stopping any other residents from parking in their allocated space. I have found a template letter from Daisy (I think) - is it best to send this to Gladstones in the first instance?
Thanks in advance for any and all responses.
Steve

zzzLazyDaisy posted a while back on here; very, very useful and knowledgeable advice but well over a year ago. You need to read more recent threads such as ones which talk about the same letter you have there.I have now received a letter from Gladstones Solicitors worded pretty much the same as the debt collection letters - that legal action may be taken and charging me £120.
Try a keyword search 'Gladstones £120' or 'AM Parking Services Gladstones' and read 2016 results.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Thank you for your response. I'm obviously being a complete moron and searching incorrectly because when I type those into the search box above (and change the drop down options) I don't find much, and was expecting a whole raft of info.
I'll keep looking. Any replies in the meantime would be appreciated.0

You need to be careful here as your arrangement with the tenant nay put her in breach of the AST/lease, do not mention it to the MA.You never know how far you can go until you go too far.0

Thanks. If is it of any consequence, the company did know she was doing it - it was their suggestion!0
