HMRC Lost my Bank Details!

Hey so the title is self explanatory

Back in January I filled out a P87 form to reclaim fuel expenses and ticked the box for BACS payment with my account number and SC etc etc

Fast forward to April 5th I receive a letter explain, I'll be getting £893 refunded to me and I confirmed on the phone then it should be today.

I've checked the bank and have confirmed I've received no payment what so ever called HMRC to find out they have lost my bank details on this particular reclaim.

No being told I have to wait 6 more weeks for my money :mad: What the hell can I do they have misplaced my Bank Details and are refusing to answer as to how they lost them.

You can wait the 6 weeks for the payment to arrive. You might find that they will pay some interest due to the delay, and if you press them you may get a few quid ex gratia payment.

Things do get lost, and I doubt anyone knows why. Why does it worry you so?

It's on every cheque you have ever written, anybody who has seen your debit card and has a good memory may have the details, and what do you think somebody who has the information is going to do with it to your detriment anyway? If you're that paranoid, switch to another bank.

    It's not very sensitive data.

I have never ever completed the bank details in any of the thousands of returns I must have prepared over the years. I ignore the section ( one of the few which one can) - a cheque will follow.
