I'm an RBS customer for 7 years and applied for a £5k loan with them - approved in principle.... Documents for me to sign are coming in the post.

I think so - they would not waste their time sending out paperwork otherwise - just don't actually spend the money until it turns up in your account.0

Not from my experience. I was sent the paperwork then waited a week for a decline letter!0

The Equifax search footprint won't in itself tell you anything about the likelihood of a "yes" from RBS - it simply confirms that RBS have assessed your credit file, which would be the case with any application. Good luck.
