First time buyer - Mortgage in principal has expird

Hi,

I am a first time buyer and have been looking for flats in Bristol for the past few months. Yesterday I put an offer in for one that I liked and the estate agents have asked for a mortgage-in-principal. Now upon digging it out (the one I got from HSBC) from last August I realised that it expired in September, something I did not notice at the time (admittedly my fault). Now nothing has changed in my circumstance since then except that I have more money for a deposit! They're now asking me to get a new mortgage in principal by Tuesday, which is going to be unlikely given that it's a bank holiday weekend.

What are my options here? Should I have already sorted my mortgage before I found a flat?

If you went direct to HSBC you will need to contact them again on Tuesday and take it from there.

If you use a broker you can probably find one online who could get you a DIP ready for Tuesday morning.
