Hi Guys,

Maybe one for the brokers who can provide some advice.

Applied for a mortgage with Halifax, only provided one payslip and had offer 8 days after application.

I missed a payment on my credit card last month which got reported to Experian, as of right now (last months update) it is now back up to date and I have a nice little "Yellow 1" followed by a green tick. Score now 835.

Solicitor is about to draw down the funds next week and obviously it will result in me loosing my mortgage offer following another credit score.

Question......how long do the brokers think I should wait until I try again with Halifax?? When this arrear is 3 months or 6 months old? My own bank said they would consider after three months and I'm guessing Halifax and more lenient than the Co Op Bank.

Thank you in advance everyone.

Dee

So you're assuming your offer is going to be withdrawn but it hasn't actually happened yet?

Why will it obviously result in yu losing your Mortgage offer?
I think you have bigger issues than when you can re-apply if the offer is withdrawn. If you have exchanged contracts you are legally tied in to completing. So you should hape the offer does nt get pulled and if it does, start to look fo a back up lender.

A 1 off late payment may not result in the offer being withdrawn and they may not do another credit check on you before completion (although I do not use halifax a lot so not 100% on their processes).

This is a re mortgage at 72% LTV. But seriously, guys, how long before I reapply do you think. Can I apply for DIP in three months (late payment is 4 months old) and see what happens?

Its a public forum, he/she can post what they want where they want as can anyone else.

If an application gets declined you can go to another lender the next day if you want.

Whilst missing a payment in the middle of a mortgage application was extremely careless it won't necessarily mean the offer will be cancelled.

You'll just have to see how it plays out and act accordingly.

Since when does Halifax credit check again? I've never heard of a lender doing that post offer. Can someone shed some light ?

When I was an underwriter you would only credit check if the offer expired or change of address.

Halifax probably won't do anything other than release the funds next week.
