I have never had a problem with Specsavers. I have used them for the last 20 years
I have a problem with people who buy stuff, then shop around aterwards, and whinge about another shop selling it cheaper that what they have bought at and want to return stuff so they can buy the cheaper stuff
The trick to it all is to shop around BEFORE you buy stuff.make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.
and we will never, ever return.0 -
About Specsavers - I bought a pair of varifocals from them last June - about £250 even with "cheap" frames - never really had decent vision with them - but had "dry eye" condition - put blurriness down to that then hospital ops and stays etc ... so -with more pressing problems- I wore the previous specs and didn't go back to complain to specsavers. I've just had a new eye test with Boots who said my prescription hadn't changed since my 2015 specsaver eye test - they checked the specsaver varifocals and found the various lens areas on my specsaver varifocal lenses were/always had been in the wrong areas for my distance/close etc vision and no amount of frame manipulation could rectify the problem - I recall the ?"dots on lenses" /pupil measuring procedure was done by two "non-opticians" - a junior who seemed to be in training who called over an angry older assistant to verify ........I realise specsavers allow 6 months for refunds and in my case it's a year since - but I reckon they were never fit for purpose - do I have any chance of proving they were never right and getting a refund?
Getting the right lens in the right position is vital for these very expensive varifocals - should it be left to non-opticians?0 -
I use Specsavers for eye tests as Asda weren't on the list when I started requiring retinopathy tests, which need special equipment that Asda didn't (still don't?) have.
However,I buy my glasses from Asda, especially as I need the extra thin lenses and ,last year, got four pairs for less than the price of two from Specsavers .0
