Halifax mortgage summary incorrect

We applied for a mortgage with halifax on Saturday via phone. Everything was disclosed and I went into branch on Monday with ID and payslips etc. to support the application. We have paid them for survey and valuation which is booked for next Tuesday.

We got paperwork in the post today with a mortgage summary supposedly detailing what we have put on the application. However, there is a lot of information missing such as we have a child, I have a small overdraft and a credit card and my husband is listed as being unemployed for 2 months but he only had a 2 week gap between jobs.

I am going to call tomorrow but I am really worried that they haven't taken our full situation into account and only assessed us on what is on the summary.

Has this happened to anyone else?

When you call make a complaint as they may think it's non disclosure.

The Halifax system is lousy at pulling data into the pdf that is the application summary and we get calls from clients all the time that there are empty boxes they think should be filled or data which appears incorrect.

For example, if someone has lived at their current address for more than three years, you click the radio button which indicates that is the case. There is no option to enter the date moved in when you do that.

The pdf is produced and it shows the move in date as the date the case was created on the Halifax system.

The issues you have mentioned do sound more like keying errors. The only one I would be concerned about is the dependents thing. Not adding a dependent may mean the borrowing might not be considered affordable if it was entered and the "advisor" has done it deliberately.

You can check affordability here should you wish to check with an without dependents;-
