NATWEST Mortgage with a FA

FA submitted NATWEST mortgage application for us (first time buyers) on Monday/Tuesday. We were accepted with a MIP prior to full application. We have quite a high income-outgoings ratio which makes us a touch and go application I think! She advised that Natwest wouldn't take any survey fees unless a survey was to be instructed - except today they took the fees... She is out of the office until Friday, which is when she anticipates giving us an update on the situation.
Is it usual for the fees to be taken on application?
I know I could wait two days for an accurate update (which I will!!) but wondered if anyone had any experience of this?
If the underwriter says no to the application, will we get the fees back (if no survey has taken place)
Thanks!

Yes, natwest changed it last month, they instruct the valuation on day one.
I had a bit of an issue with Natwest about this as it does not appear to state anywhere on the system they will be taking the money. If it does I missed it.I am a Mortgage AdviserYou should note that this site doesn't check my status as a mortgage adviser, so you need to take my word for it. That's interesting to know, at least I know why that's happened!
Fingers crossed and waiting game then!!0 -
