Hellix Limited - Notice of Intent

Hey,
I received an email from Hellix Limited today that stated that I owed them £280 from a motor insurance debt that I supposedly had. I cannot for the life of me remember that I had this insurance policy, and cannot remember that I had defaulted on it. Their email does not include any detail whatsoever on the debt. There's no date that the account defaulted on there. They've also said that they've had previous correspondence with myself, but I've checked my emails, and i have never had an email from them.
Here's what the first part of the email says:
NOTICE BEFORE ACTION
Dear Mr Ash
Despite previous correspondence being sent to you during the life of your debt the matter still remains outstanding, We will advise our client on the possible further action they need to consider to resolve your debt this could include but not limited to;
STARTING LEGAL PROCEEDINGS
I was just wondering if anyone has had dealings with this company before, and if they're a fraud company just taking a chance that i would pay it?
Thanks in advance for any help
Ash

Hi,
I'd remove your personal details first off.
Second, they can send as many emails as they like, unless you get something in writing, it's not a legal request for payment.
Third, it sounds like a scam to me anyway, I would delete and ignore unless they bother writing to you.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Debt free wannabe, Credit file and ratings, and Bankruptcy and living with it boards.
