Buying Wedding Dress From BHS - Should I Wait?

In a bit of a tiz as was going to wait until the end of the year to buy my wedding dress from BHS, as am currently losing weight and wedding is next year. With BHS in administration I'm now just going to estimate the size and have alterations if necessary. My mother thinks I should wait a few days in case they mark the prices down, but I'm worried other brides may panic buy and I won't be able too get hold of the dress I've been after. What would you recommend??

i would buy it IF you would be very unhappy if you didnt get it, if another dress would be fine then wait. Be careful with the size, from my own experience you won't lose as much weight as you think (but you know yourself better than I do!) Congratulations, and best wishes.0

they are unlikely to get new stock if they shut as their suppliers have been asking for cash up front for stock, cash they currently don't have unless a buyer is foundEx forum ambassador

I'm pretty sure about the size I'll b getting as I've already lost a stone and a half and I've only got another 10-12lb to go, I gave birth 19 months ago and I'm still breastfeeding so I'm not really dieting just making sure I don't ovr eat and walking it off. The only thing I'm really worried about is if I lose more than I'm expecting, but I'm not overly concerned, as I'm unlikely to lose that much from the chest if I'm still breastfeeding, so will probably still need the extra room.

Personally I would look elsewhere. With the company in administration you don't know if you will ever see your dress after paying your money. Furthermore if there is anything wrong with the dress when you do get it there is a very high chance that you will not be able to return or exchange it. There are hundreds of wedding dress shops out there with beautiful dresses at reasonable prices.
This is a once in a lifetime (hopefully!) purchase, don't add more stress to your special day with worries about whether you will ever get your dress and then if it will even fit!!!
If you HAVE to buy a dress that you've seen in BHS, I would recommend buying it in the size you are now, and then get the alterations done by a seamstress, not BHS, nearer to the time. That way you will have the dress and know it fits.:j Comping on & off since 31/08/12 :beer:I comp for fun... and to kill the boredom!0 -
Thanks but a different dress is not an option I want to look at. Also, as I have said previously, I am definately losing weight, there's no question about that, without wanting to sound cocky, it's not an aspirational thing, it's in progress. I was a size 18, I'm now falling through a size 14, so I'll be buying a size 12.

Dammit, mum was right, they've marked it down by another tenner today! LOL, oh well, the price of security I guess.
