  • Hi taib0

Don't panic ... tomorrow will NOT be as bad as you think, OK you'd rather be somewhere else but it WILL be fine and you will leave court .. DEBT FREE!

I think it will take a few hours after BR for it sink in .. it did with me, I felt a bit flattened with anticlimax at first, then a few hours later, it sinks in ... I am DEBT FREE ... I CAN ANSWER THE PHONE ... ETC

GOOD LUCK not needed but I will send it anyway ... :j

Hi Guys, whoopee it was easy, honestly it was absolutely fabulous and the court clerk who was a women even gave my tearful missus a hug !! would you believe that. I can't stress enough how nice and friendly all the court staff were and when she took us in to see the judge even he was lovely. He asked the usual stuff had we been advised regarding the seriousness of what we were about to do and were we happy with everything. We agreed and he stamped it in front of us and wished us well for debt free future. The clerk of the court then took us into a private room where she phoned the OR's office and passed the phone over to me so I could speak to him. He took the usual details in a very friendly way, told us to inform our bank (the nationwide) immediately and inform them that we had just been declared bankrupt. He said he didn't mind us keeping the account open for bill paying etc and would not be freezing it :D. I was sat there thinking I had died and gone to heaven, yesterday I was up to my neck in debt and this morning I don't owe a bean to anyone :rotfl:

A special thanks to eveyone who has helped us over the past few weeks and you all know who you are and especially you Debt Doctor, your expert help and advice was invaluable.

    Thanks guys,

    Taib0

PS I can't believe for the first time in my life I have absolutely no debt :T

    Well done.:j:beer:

    Glad it all went well.:D

Now you know what we mean when we say it's not as bad as you think. ;)
It's really hard to get it across on a forum like this without sounding as if you are trivialising the whole process, but it really is nowhere as scary as you imagine. And yes, lots of the court staff are really nice.

Relax and have nice evening and a fantastic nights sleep in the knowledge that you are debt free. :)

It's a great feeling - well done and enjoy your evening.
I am NOT, nor do I profess to be, a Qualified Debt Adviser. I have made MANY mistakes and have OFTEN been the unwitting victim of the the shamefull tactics of the Financial Industry.
If any of my experiences, or the knowledge that I have gained from those experiences, can help anyone who finds themselves in similar circumstances, then my experiences have not been in vain.
