We all know that most of the DVD's in Poundland are rubbish, but occasionally they have some good ones.
I hope we can bring them all together here in this thread.
My job takes me all over central Scotland and so I manage to get around the various Poundland stores.
Over the past few weeks I've found the following on DVD:
* 2 separate "MIDSOMER MURDERS" DVDs containing a feature length episode on each DVD.
* The real-life crime documentary series "THE FBI FILES" which was shown on Channel 5 a few years ago. There are around 12 separate DVD's each containing a feature length documentary about murders, child abductions, armed robberies etc.
* The official review of "THE RUGBY WORLD CUP 2003" which lasts for 3 hours and has extensive highlights from the competition including the final which England won.
* The official release of "THE 1993 FA CUP FINAL: ARSENAL vs SHEFFIELD WEDNESDAY" which lasts for nearly 3 hours and includes the whole match.
* Another football DVD "THE 100 BEST ENGLISH PREMIER LEAGUE GOALS" which lasts for over an hour and contains some of the greatest goals in English football since the Premiership began 15 years ago. All the favourites are included - Owen, Shearer, Beckham, Fowler, Sheringham etc.
* An early Angelina Jolie movie which is rare to find on DVD called "LOVE IS ALL AROUND" which is a romantic comedy. I bought 4 of these in Pounland Motherwell and sold them for £6 each on e-bay. They are indeed pretty rare!!!
* A BBC spin off of Eastenders called "EASTENDERS: THE SLATERS IN DETENTION" which was a special episode starring Michelle Ryan, Kacey Ainsworth, Jessie Wallace and some other regulars. Also includes an alternative ending never seen before to the Little Mo/Trevor murder trial.
* The offical reviews of "WIMBLEDON 1976" and "WIMBLEDON 1978" - these are also pretty rare. I bought a few of each and sold them on e-bay for £10 each!!! Watch Bjorn Borg, Chris Evert, Jimmy Connors and all the other favourites from the golden era of tennis.
I will add more as I find them.
Kind regards.

I know they aren't DVDs but I bought the CD audio books of Robin Cook's autobiography and Andrew Marr's book on journalism (and a bit of an autobiography as well) in Swindon last week. Listened to the latter and it's very good.0

I managed to get a few new ones today:
* A romantic comedy starring Vanessa Marcil (The Rock, Las Vegas) and Sean O'Bryan (Big Fat Liar, The Princess Diaries) called "NICE GUYS SLEEP ALONE" which looks pretty good.
* A 2-hour animated DVD containing 5 classic children's fairytales including "RUMPLESTILTSKIN", "THE GINGERBREAD MAN", "SLEEPING BEAUTY" and "SNOW WHITE AND THE SEVEN DWARFS"
* A DVD interactive game hosted by Tom Baker (Dr Who) which includes questions on famous sci-fi movies and television shows. I played this at a mate's house a few months back and it's pretty good. Questions and clips relate to shows like Star Trek, Red Dwarf, Battlestar Galactica, Dr Who and Thunderbirds.
They also had another DVD interactive game of "RICHARD & JUDY'S YOU SAY, WE PAY" but I decided to give that one a miss.0 -
Not a DVD, but I managed to pick up a hardback copy of Martin Johnson's autobiography for £1 a while back.0
