  • There is nothing you can do. You have to forget it. I think companies often hold comps as part of their death throes.

Liquidation almost certainly means you will not get a prize, but administration shouldn't automatically mean no prize. A company in administration is a going concern - the administrator will be hoping to sell it so they don't want to upset people and give the company a bad name. Don't forget that many prizes come from a third party anyway, so if they have your details they may still send it. It could also be the third party supplier that goes into administration and the company running the comp may try and supply an alternative prize.

I had a WEM from Blockbuster for a box set on the day before they went into administration. Three and a half months later the prize turned up in the post! I regularly post comps for a site where the company has been in administration twice in the last five years with no known effect on the supply of prizes.

If you need help from the compers, I think you will need to give more information.

A link to the competition and company you won with will be needed so folks can help ;)

Doesn't make any difference - if they are wound up you might have a claim as an unsecured creditor - they sometimes get a penny or two in the pound

Have BHS run any competitions lately?

    ETA

There was this one. If I had won that, I wouldn't be holding my breath on getting the prize.

They do say that if you win vouchers then you should spend them ASAP just in case.

    I wonder what the OP's situation was/is.
Thank you to everyone who posts on the competitions boards. You all rock!

I would put it down as the luck of the draw. You were lucky to win, you haven't lost anything by not receiving the prize (albeit I admit it would be disappointing) and life goes on. Those working for the company who may have lost jobs are in a much worse position.
