Time gap limits?

I went to Waltham Cross from Sloane Square via Tottenham Hale.

TFL Single fare finder said the fare was £4.

Thing is you need to exit the tube at Tottenham Hale and get onto the overground to complete the journey.

Is there a limit to the time you can take between exiting the tube and entering the overland train? i.e could you spend and hour shopping?
Thanks

At Tottenham Hale you have twenty minutes from touching out at one and touching in at the other.

If you take longer than that it will be charged as two journeys - Sloane Square to Tottenham Hale and Tottenham Hale to Waltham Cross. That's £2.80 plus £2.70 = £5.50 (that's Off Peak).
