    That's helpful.

    The link does make it clear: As a policy decision, each claimant in a household breakdown case is now only required to repay 50% of an overpayment, even if their ex-partner does not pay their share.

    If HMRC are aware of how difficult it is to get Rossendales to accept this, the question is why do they not spell this out to them at the beginning. Or use someone else.

    I would say it's because DCA's are only interested in profit.

    Can't say any one would be any more sympathetic than another.

    If they don't turn over any money from you, they won't get paid.
    They also don't care if your liable or not, they just want results.
