barclays mortgage valuation

Hello i have just a quick question im a first time buyer and i have applied for a mortgage with barclays through a broker, I have just recvived a text saying that a valuation has been instructed by barclays does that mean they have done all credit checks and i've passed or is it standard to to valuation first?

we are having now mortgage with Leeds (I hope so) and they do valuation first, so it really depends on the lender.***Twins mummy***0

It's a good sign, however I wouldn't read too much into the timing of the valuation being instructed.
