Basically you need to check the terms and conditions for each competition. The big prizes for ITV comps are governed by

"Entries must be sent on a postcard or on or within an envelope. Entries received on anything other than a postcard or envelope will not be accepted. In the case of multiple entries received in a single envelope or postcard, only one entry will be entered into the promotion".

Your details have to be on a postcard or the back of a sealed envelope

Posting them inside the envelope for most of the postal competitions will result in them being binned - if in doubt, read the T&C's of each entry

Oops, I've done the same thing as you dannycomp18! At least I wont make that mistake again. Thank you DynasticDux and jaydeetee.
  • Sorry to repeat an already asked question before but as far as I can see from the ITV terms, you can actually send an entry inside an envelope (i.e. on a card within an envelope):

"entries must be sent on a postcard or on or within an envelope. Entries received on anything other than a postcard or envelope will not be accepted."

I'm just a bit confused as various posts here (including the above) seem to say that you can't do this.... I'm about to send off a bunch of entries so I want to be sure before I do!

For them you can send an entry within an envelope but only one per envelope, you cannot put several in one.

If it's a postcard competition the back of a sealed envelope is almost always acceptable while inside an envelope not quite so much - To be sure of acceptance using a postcard is best, followed by the back of a sealed envelope and lastly inside an envelope.
  • That is fab, thank you !
