Buy a sewing kit in a Pound shop and stitch the jeans button back on! There's usually a couple of spare buttons and safety pins in those kits, so you could surely fix the jeans up enough to get you through.

Have a belt, did think of the safety pin idea myself but couldn't quite work it out, small pin meant it was too tight so more chance of popping, big pin gave it too much slack but less chance of popping.0
