Don't know if this already on here but just want to let everyone know about glassesdirect.com. I saw this is The Times a couple of months ago and thought i'd have a look. Basically you need a copy of your eye prescription (look out for freebies and cheap offers) just ask the optician and they'll give you it. The website is really easy to use and you can even upload a photo of your face to "try on" the frames! I got my glasses in 3 working days and only cost me £28.50 including postage. They are v.stylish and i have given the catalogue to my friends. Also, i had a couple of queries and they were personally answered by e-mail and phone. Can't praise enough!

Yes glasses direct & other online optitians are well documented on this site. There are some long threads about them on the shopping section of these boards.

I saw this thread and wanted to give a different story, I ordered a new pair over three weeks ago and still not here...I just called their customer service number - they couldn't tell me when they would be ready or why they were delayed - just that they are "in the laboratory". When I said shall I cancel the order then? - I was told "yeah whatever"

My son bought some bendy framed specs last year, after 6 months they snapped.I emailed them , they told me to send them back , and he got a replacement pair. Can`t fault their service.
