Completed debt management plan help.

Hi there,
I wonder if anyone could offer me any advice.
I entered into a debt management plan with step Change in 2011. I completed the plan last October. It should of been completed in May but a lot of my debtors mainly BOS applied heavy interest and default charges.
Anyway long story short is, I was delighted to finally have paid off my debts. And then in January started recieving letters from two seperate debt company's for different amounts totalling £450. When I called them they told me the remaining debt had been sold to them from BOS. I told them about my debt management plan and that it was showing as completed so I'm unsure as to what the excess amount they are claiming I owe is. I asked for details and they said they couldn't provide only the amount and my account number and if I require any more information to contact BOS so I have done this. They just seem to fob me off and pass me round departments before confirming they passed it on. However they don't seem to want to or have any information on what this remaining debt is about. Whether it's interest charges etc? My husband has told me to offer them a settlement as its not s huge amount of money. I just feel uncomfortable just handing over money that no one can give me real answers to what it is about?
Can anyone advise me on what to do next?
Thank you in advance,
Sarah

Hi,
You send the provit letter to whoever is writing to you, don't phone them, everything in writing only.
Don't pay up just because someone says you have to, that makes no sense.
Sending the provit letter asks them to prove you owe this money, without any admission of liability, basically no proof, means no debt !!
