I have applied for Tesco night shift temp job. The job is 3 days per week, from 10pm until 7am. I heard there is a premium rate for the night shifts, but I cannot find what it is. From the little research I have done online, some people who have worked night shifts at Tesco say the hourly rate is somewhere between £1+ from 10pm until 12am, then £2 added to the basic rate from 12am until 6am, but from what I can see this was a few years ago. Does anybody know if the premium hourly rates are still the same, more or less?

Why not wait to see if you actually get an interview and then offered a role prior to worrying about this or you could ring them and ask.0

Apply for the job and see if they inform you of this at interview.0 -
You are not far off.. Current rates are;
£1.47 between 10.00PM-12.00AM
£2.18 between 12.00AM-6.00AM
Hope this helps and good luck with your interview.0 -

Assuming those premiums will continue to be paid following the introduction of the National Living Wage. Some employers are reducing, or completely removing, premiums for anti-social hours in an attempt to claw back some of the additional cost.0 -
Funnily enough I applied for the same role at my local Tesco store.
I had my interview at 10:30pm last Friday evening. Felt the interview went well; afterwards I spent around an hour replenishing the shelves in the homeware and stationery departments.
Still waiting to hear from Tesco but even if it's a no it certainly made a change from my usual Friday night!
Back to the question in hand... Tesco are changing the premium offered from July 2016. You'd only earn the night premium from midnight through 6am rather than 10pm to 6am it is now.It's not your credit score that counts, it's your credit history. Any replies are my own personal opinion and not a representation of my employer.0
