Made a mistake on my SOA

Hi
Bit worried here. I was reading over my SOA a few mins ago, (nothing else to do) and spotted an error that no-one inclusing me seems to have spotted until now. In the section, "property you rent" I have failed to fill in the details of our council property - which is where we live, or at least if i did it doesnt show up on the form.

Is that a hanging matter now, or can I just phone the OR tomorrow and explain. Just a thought, what will happen to our tenancy, we are joint tenents and get full HB so dont pay any rent.

Thanks everyone .. thought it was all sorted *sigh*

Most SOA's are completed by people under quite a lot of stress, so the OR is used to seeing the odd mistake or so (big or small). Just let them know ASAP and all will be fine.:D

As far as I know your tenancy will be unaffected.

You really can relax now. :)

I will call the office tomorrow, OR have not contacted me at all yet, so they prob have not noticed it themselves. Funny I seem to remember putting those details in .. oh well!

To be honest, it's probably not worth phoning about. As fermi says, these forms are, usually, filled in under stress and many things get omitted. I don't think it would cause you any problem if you waited until the OR interview.
I am NOT, nor do I profess to be, a Qualified Debt Adviser. I have made MANY mistakes and have OFTEN been the unwitting victim of the the shamefull tactics of the Financial Industry.
If any of my experiences, or the knowledge that I have gained from those experiences, can help anyone who finds themselves in similar circumstances, then my experiences have not been in vain.

Probably true. :) Personally I would let them know to just show good faith and stop me worrying about it, but that's just me.

I have checked with my local authority with regards to BR and it makes no difference to the tennancy agreement. The only thing to threaten a local authority tenancy is not paying your rent, and being a nuisance neighbour HTH
  • Thanks for alll the info guys. I think I will phone "just to show willing". I didnt think the council would have an issue with the BR but you know how it is, after so many months with everything going pear shaped its hard to really believe that things will NOT continue that way LOL
