Hi,
I'm finding it really hard to be a savvy shopper. I do buy the cheap stuff and will bulk buy on the bogoffs to save pennies. The trouble I have is time. I'm pretty busy with a F/T job, P/T job, P/T Msc, boyfriend and two horses to look after so getting time to prepare stuff is difficult.
Does anyone have any suggestions for a monthly shop which will come in at about £90 that has quick and easy cooking ingredients. Since watching a certain program I can't stomach supermarket meat, it has to come from the butchers so no value stuff for me.
I'll happily eat quorn and other veggie stuff instead. Not so happy about processed foods either, I'm a fussy b***er!
Any suggestions or recipies would be very helpful,
Thanks
Suz

I have, I think I need to look at that again. It would certainly stop me picking up things I don't need! But its about £4 a go, do people find this economical?[STRIKE]Student Loan = 798 @ Jan 2013 Target date to clear = 2013 DONE [/STRIKE]

If you use tesco look at the discount/codes board there are usually codes on there that cover the cost of delivery and money off your shopping ie spend £50 use code for £5 off. here is the link http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.html?t=5206900

When you do maybe have some free time, why don't you cook up some beef mince in a tomato based sauce and freeze it into the number of portions you will need.
Then you can use these portions on spag bol, in cannelloni with a white/cheese sauce, or on rice, etc. Pasta and rice don't take that long to cook.
You could also do some chicken in a cream based sauce, maybe with mushrooms and do the same with pasta or rice.
Hope this helps.

The place to start is to meal plan. Do this for a month, you can then buy what you need. You will not end up buying stuff you don't eat. This means your internet order will be easy to do. Even without a code to save the delivery it is worth while. You don't have to go to the shop, nor do you end up impulse buying. It is worth doing.0

I see online ordering as 'time is money' especially with what you have on, you could use that free time to cook even. Of course saves on petrol costs etc aswell. One day I might be more organised...........
