Halifax mortgage

when we changed our mortgage from Northern Rock to Halifax in 2004 we wanted to change it to joint names as it was originally in partners name only the halifax charged £250 for this - is that usual?

There is normally a charge for doing this so yes its usual. As to how the charge compares to other lenders I have no idea but if you want to make this change you will have to pay the fee.0

yes extra work, just as there would have been legal charges for it0
