How much exactly is your mum looking to borrow? You talk about remortgage so I assume its a substantial sum which is a whole different story.

What a lovely honourable thing to do for her, hope your personal life gets better soon as it sounds likely are having a tough time.
If I was you I'd first see if mum could get an unsecured loan from somewhere.
Failing that and if you apply just make sure you can afford the repayments yourself in case mum is not in a position to pay you at any time. Be careful on your application and where you apply for as some lenders may want to know what the monies for and may not like it's purpose. I'd do homework personally before application that you would meet the particular banks criteria. They will want to do affordability on now, not future income.
Wish you the best of luck

It is perfectly understandable that you would want to help your mum. However, if the bank thinks that your mum cannot afford the loan what makes you think you know better?

If you can afford to give her the money then do so. Any loan arrangement is only going to end up in potentially damaging your relationship with your mum.
