Robfirstbuyer do not forget nearly everone ( me included ) is bound to be very wary of buying their first propery after all it useally a 25 year commitment, the biggest purchase you will ever make ( a least once ) and something that you do not take on lightly but 1000s of people do it and i dare bet look back in years to come and think did we really do that?
Hope it works out well for you and your other half.

Thanks again all for your very helpful comments,
Glad you seem to be done with the great fun of mentalness MandM, and we both certainly want to progress in life.
Thanks for the clarity check Ganga, we would hardly be the worst off in the country after doing this.
Thanks again all.0 -
You'll be ok Rob. By the time sprogs come along Mrs Rob would be due some maternity pay, and that would help out. And possibly she would want to work part time anyway after a bit as it can be isolating being at home with the kids and no grown up talk.
I think it's great that you are cautious about it, but I do think you will be fine together doing this

Much appreciated all, had bit of a downer yesterday, feeling a bit more optimistic today (not great though).
Thanks again0 -
Robfirstbuyer, when you look at the price of the house, the payments etc.it looks very frightning but look at the positive sides! you have managed to save £55,000 which is a lot of money and shows good financial sense. ( we had about £2500 when we purchased 24 years ago ) Take a deep breath, cool down and think logically, you know that between you and your partner you can do no think what if,s all the time, again good luck ( allthough luck has no place in this, commen sense, good financial sense and planing has )
