30th birthday pressie idea for a male

It's a good friend of mine's 30th birthday and I have no idea what to buy him as a present. I am doing him and his gf a dinner and cocktails on Saturday night but I would like to get him a memorable gift that he can keep. Any ideas?

I got a friend a glass tankard, bottle of beer and a bottle opener for his 18th and he loved it. It wasn't expensive and it was a little different.

It depends how much you want to spend and what he's into.

How about a hooker and some Bolivian coke?

  • A digital photo frame, take some photos of the evening and then give it to him on a memory stick/card to load into the frame.

I like that idea. The photo's always mean a lot more to me than the other sorts of presents in the long run. :)

  • When my partner was 30, I got him 30 presents and wrapped them individually and then placed them in a large box, one of the presents was a helium baloon, so when he opened the box it flew out. His main present was a tattoo, I out his appointment card for the tatoo artist in there, then the other presents were things like chocolate bars, packet of ballpoint pens, dont have to cost much. This was pre LBM, but I am sure you can do the same thing, get cheap but useful things, or evfen freebies.
