Good morning all .
Just a quick one to say I'm back . A very bad week last week meant I didn't get online .
I tried to post yesterday but it went off into the ether .
ThankYou TA for thinking of me again .
Jackie I am hoping that Davie will continue to hold his own and get the chemo . Take care love and try to enjoy your break .
I need to catch up on nine days of posts !!!
Hugs to any who would like one .
There is a very large washing pile to be tackled and a weeks worth of stuff to catch up on . I am so glad I did a lot of meals for the freezer just over a week ago , they have been a godsend .
Off to face the laundry , very grey , cloudy and cold but I'm hoping the very strong winds will keep the rain away .
Hope to back later , have a good day all.

Morning all from a gloriously sunny Kent. DH gone to allotment and I'm baking to take stuff away for our trip to North Devon in our caravan on Thursday. Plan to cycle some of the Tarka Trail and visit Croyde, Ilfracombe and Barnstaple etc.
Hope JackieO enjoying her break, in the circumstances, and hugs to those who need them.
off to NT place tomorrow, Batemans, with a picnic.
Snoozer, I started gentle yoga about six weeks ago, I love it.Carolbee0 -
Grrr, why are energy companies so greedy. We pay by DD and last month the bill said we were £54 in credit for the year but then said that they estimated that we would use £40 per month extra this coming year, so they've increased our DD accordingly!. I can't ring them because the bill is in DH's name and they won't speak to me (which always raises my blood pressure). Sorry, rant over, just needed to let off steam.0

Maybe you are being too strict with yourself re calories. Try adding more healthy claories and hopefully things will balance out for you.
JackieO
Fingers crossed for your brother and have a nice break.
Painter has just started the first coat of proper colour on the living room and I really like it . Rather than the silvery grey that the tester suggested, it is more like a frosty clear colour with a hint of icy green. So far it looks elegant :j
I seem to be another one using yesterday's chicken. I have made a chicken stock and once it cools I will scrape off the meat and make a chicken, mushrooms, peppers, peas and pasta dish as middle dd is coming round for a meal and assembling sliding baskets in the bottom of the new wardrobes. Just hope the baskets and runners get delivered today as expected.
Hugs to all"This site is addictive!"

Redruby that sounds like a worrying time jobwise; surely the Powers That Be there must see that something is very amiss, if your boss got signed off sick with stress, and then made the decision that she's not coming back?
How's little Evie doing now? Give the wee lass a cuddle for Auntie Wolfy.Off to work this morning so my OH will run Mum home after breakfast as she has a blood test at the village surgery. Slight mishap last night as her wheaten cuddly toy that she takes to bed with her bed gave up the ghost in the microwave and started to burn  no idea why as did it for the same time as always and my MW is no stronger than hers, guess they just have a certain shelf life. So have ordered her a new friend off the Internet and he should arrive tomorrow, he's a sheep
Bad night with my dratted shoulder again last night.:( However, I think I've got to the bottom of what's going on - a nice little affliction called "frozen shoulder". I've downloaded a list of gentle exercises that should help shorten the duration (apparently it does clear by itself, but can take a long time) so we'll see if those help. One thing that surprised me was that it usually (though not always) affects the NON-dominant shoulder - mine's in my right shoulder, and I'm left-handed.
Unfortunately, it's affecting my ability to get around the bungalow, because holding a stick in my right hand hurts like bu88ery, and of course I use two sticks to hobble around indoors.:(If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)0 -
Ooh sympathy LAMEWOLF. I had a frozen shoulder years ago and can still remember how painful and incapacitating it was. Even trying to do my hair was impossible as I couldn't lift my arm up!. Hope the exercises help x"If you dream alone it will remain just a dream. But if we all dream together it will become reality"0

Afternoon all.
It's been a strange kind of day = promised much and gave a little! The forecast sunshine has only just arrived, too late to get out and about. I only needed to buy milk which I did in the rain.
My BSD fell off the wagon, think it's a case of emotional eating today, perhaps the first 'down' day since Melbourne so I'll excuse myself and move on up tomorrow.
I've scanned paperwork and sent some stuff off back to Australia, letters written in the 1990's with some interesting information about the three Oz boys. I've ordered a couple of things online, including wine and gardening tools, and sorted out a return to A*azon too.
There's a pile of papers which I need to burn but the weather hasn't been good enough today, and I've had no luck in sourcing a brazier-type burner which is close enough to collect. The nearest is Greenock which is a ferry ride away and about 40 miles drive to the ferry. I'll try again tomorrow.
Elona - your paint sounds really lovely! I've looked it up and can see how gorgeous it is. Well chosen.
I'm off to open my front door and let the late sunshine in.0 -
Gers - I have a 'burning bin' if you would like to borrow it, think galvanised dustbin with holes in! It has a lid with a little chimney on the top.
I've done ok with my eating today (so far), I had forgotten what it was like to feel hungry! I lent someone a travel book and they returned it today with a rather large bar of nutty chocolate - it's shouting at me!0 -

Does she put a vessel of water in the micro when she heats up her wheaty friend? I use two wheaty bags on a regular basis, and always put a half-mug of water in with them; I gather it stops them drying right out.

Hey LW yes, I always put half a cup of water in with it and she says she does too, no idea tbh, just one of those things I guess but glad it happened here rather than when she was at home alone :eek:0
