Funding professional studies

Hi all, I hope someone has some insight on this.
I am about to start a postgraduate marketing course (1 year) for the Professional Post-graduate Marketing Diploma of CIM, the Chartered Institute for Marketing.
My funding has fallen through at the last minute - my father was going to fund it, but has had some financial difficulty lately and only now told me about it. Problem is now, I've never been in debt before and I have no idea how to get the best deal for it.
I'm single, no children, with no savings, or debts. The cost for the course over a year will be about £2,500 and I could probably pay that back within 2-3 years.
I've looked around for postgrad "study loans" but none of them seem to include Marketing!
Any ideas or tips? Going into debt is serious business to me and it makes me very nervous - definitely want to do everything right!! Thanks!
Susanne

yea professional studies loan only tend to cover courses such as law and medicine... i have taken out a professional studies loan and personally i did this because i thought it was a cheaper alternative to an ordinary loan- i don't think it is. as i have found out today there is all the technical issues regarding the Bank of England's interest rates and inflation etc and how that affects my monthly repayments- it is totally mind- boggling... none of this was explained to me at the time of application which i am most annoyed about. northern rock do a decent loan rate, and you are only borrowing a small amount (it seems like a massive amount to someone who's good with money!) but go to a branch and check them out and see if they can get you a quote. i had been in myself today and they were great, just tell them that you are shopping around and looking for a decent deal and that you are just after a quote. Hindsight is a wonderful thing...

DEBT FREE AT LAST... BUT FOR HOW LONG?! :eek:0 -
Also check if the colleg will do payment in instalments - which can reduce what you need to find upfront and right away. If you could combine that with stoozing (see cc threads) a cheap way forward?Debt free 4th April 2007.
