This is our first mortgage so not really sure if this is the same for everyone..........
we have gone through a broker for our mortgage. We sent off paperwork 2 weeks ago and have not yet heard whether its been ok'd? I emailed our case manager at the brokers and she said they would be assessing our paperwork Monday (just gone). We still have not heard and I have contacted the broker again today who says she will chase it again.
Should we be having to do all this chasing? It seems like nothing would move at all if we wernt constantly nagging them? initially we had to make contact to find out that they didnt have everything they needed!
any advice appreciated,
by the way, we put our offer in on the house 2nd August and initiated our mortgage application straight away. How much longer should this take?
Thanks

There could be lots of reasons why its held up. The underwriters may be wanting confirmation on various points. Whatever it is the broker should be able to find out.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). The comments I make are just my opinion and are for discussion purposes only.
