NRAM consent to let help

Hi looking to see if anyone has been in same boat or can offer advice....
I've been renting my flat for 5 years though never notified NRAM. On my main property I am due to remortgage next year and likely to need consent to let for the flat. I would rather sell the flat though am unable to due to negative equity.
What is the likely outcome when I notify Nram I have been letting?
Thanks
