Has anyone found a cheap supply of quinoa ?
Had a look in Sainsburys and I'm not paying their prices !
The likes of Lidl and Aldi don't appear to sell it.

Cheers

Holland and Barratt can be cheapish for grains if they've got offers on. Asda also sell some wholefoods including quinoa although I'm not sure they're that cheap - the prices seemed comparable with online suppliers like Goodness Direct.

    Sainsburys 60p/100g, or £6/Kg
    Tesco 73.8p/100g, or £7.38/Kg
    Asda 78.3p/100g, or £7.83/Kg

So it wasn't doing too badly by general comparison, but then I checked the posh shop .... and, I guess they sell more than elsewhere, or want to get their posh shoppers back in there, because:

Waitrose have a reduced price at the moment, 49.2p/100g, or £4.92/Kg

That's good to know. I was going to mention Waitrose as their 'good for you' grains and pulses are really good quality (I think that's what the range is called) but I thought they'd be dearer than Sainsbury's. Nice to know they're not! I don't know if it's on their 'pick your own' offers but if it is then you could get an even lower price if you make it one of your choices.

Amazon Pantry is worth looking at: available for Prime members, or as useful top-up item should you wish to buy something else and make the price up to £20+ to avoid the delivery charges.

Does quinoa go "off"? I've successfully kept dried rice for years but I find that dried bulgar wheat doesn't last forever, it smells distinctly unpleasant after a time.

Grape Tree. £3.95 for 500g, but they've had a BOGOF offer for ages.
