    That's what I thought that's why I'm so confused. Definitely a hard search as its on my file.

    Are you sure it wasn't a soft search aka a quotation search? It would still appear on your file but only you would see it and not other lenders.

    How would I be able to tell? Broker said it was a hard search and the were told about the late payments at DIP stage.

    Call Woolwich and find out.
  • I've just looked at experian and my score is 987/999 so I am totally lost. Any advice? I'm not sure whether calling woolwich is a good idea as my broker wants to appeal and I don't want to mess anything up.

  • I just rang Woolwich direct and on their system it doesn't say declined it says awaiting further documents? I'm so confused - anyone have any ideas?

    Hi - both myself and DH have had problems in the past although nothing too major. Halifax just accepted us. Much cheaper than Aldermore. You need to get a decent broker. Ours was very specific with who he would put us with to make sure we didn't get lots of hard searches on our file.
