Look at the freedom or make up revolution in superdrug.

You can pallets of eye shadows for between £4-£8 they also have an on-line presence.

I use freedom makeup and I am happy with it.

Also have a look in pound shops you can branded in there.

    Yours

I love Bourjois eyeshadows. They do a quad eyeshadow where you get four shades for £8 I think. It's often on 3-for-2.

I like Maybelline color tattoo 24 hour eyeshadow. Stays on and doesn't crease, and comes off easily with make up remover.

Try MUA at Superdrug. Cruelty free (Leaping Bunny approved). I bought their Eye Primer recently with a very nice nude palette and the primer really makes a difference, the colours stay deeper. Inexpensive and yet good quality. My only criticism is sometimes the containers are a tad flimsy (hinges seem to perish before the pot is empty.)

I'm fond of kiko eye shadows - not too expensive, you can use them wet or dry and very reasonably priced. Fine on my sensitive skin too.

I'm a bit of a magpie when it comes to eye shadow- I get a bit addicted by the colours!

If I were only looking at high street (I buy more expensive brands because I can't afford to acquire as much and so don't waste as much!) I'd be looking at Bourjois, Barry M (though not as easy to use IMO) but if you are willing to spend a bit more then I'd suggest Mac or Urban Decay for bright colours and Bobbi Brown or Chanel for muted or more natural colours. I'd say if you can get them as a gift, use Boots Advantage Card points of whatever else to reduce or cut the costs- that's how I manage anyway!

When looking for eye shadow I'll try to look for something with a heavy pigment which not only means I need to use less of it but also means I don't need to put so much effort into applying layers and layers to get anything more than an uneven sheen. I do think it's worth paying the extra (and just buying less) if you are looking for shadows which are not only going to be worn once or twice.

W7 make up is s great bargain brand. They have dupes of the naked palettes at a fraction of the cost. Make up Revolution British Beauty Blogger palette (Only the Brave) has some gorgeous colours for a tenner as well. Sleek in Boots and Superdrug also do great colours for people of all different shades as well.

Primer makes all the difference, whatever brand you try. I normally use an MUA one, only £2-3 if that. Also try wetting your brush with water, will get a stronger colour. Ordered this last week, can't wait for it to arrive! http://www.makeuprevolutionstore.com/mermaids-vs-unicorns.html
