CSA take 25% off me

Checked statement today, and see that they have taken £300 out as DD

My eldest lad is 16 and in full time employement

I earned average of £1200 a month. on the old sytem and they take that off me!

On A DMP (£160) and my morgtage is £450 a month

Asked for reassemesment 3 months ago because my son started work.

Had council tax, gas and electric DDs bounce becuase of CSA, usually pay 2 payments a month of £75 and £100, which means that on 14th they might take £100 out which means i will be paying a third of my take home!

Can i ask them to compensate me for taking what i consider the wrong amount?

also need reassessing again in a months time because i have gone down the Ltd Co. route to avoid IR35... not evade CSA

Would change the DD to standing order straight away, you have more control over the payments that way, the bank send in the payments at YOUR request (.'. cannot take more than you agree to pay) as opposed to the DD which CSA ask the bank for. I would check though have they taken the two amounts as one wasn't taken last month ?

I would contact them re the double amounts via complaint letter, not sure re:compo though!!

Also get on to them again re your son, however be aware that when on old rules this does not neccessarily make a diffence as not percentage based like new rules.

it was one payment. and i have cancelled th DD as i only have a basic current account with Barclays.

The next payment of £100 is my arrears.. i think. as for the last 4 years i pay £75 then 2 weeks later i pay £100.

just got off phone, I am paying £300 p/m (£70 p/w) on the assessment made in july, effective from june, but this is 1st payment of £300. It is for both children,but my son started work in july. They are reassessing me at present for one child.

And will now reassess me as i have gone self employed.

I am on CS1, where as if i was on CS2 i would be paying less than £45 a week.

My ex does work so she gets the money and will not agree to me making direct payments

If the DD is incorrect and you have not been advised that the £300 was due to be taken within 10 days then then CSA are in breech of the DD guarentee ~ ring your bank quoting this and they are obliged to return the £300.
