Hi,
I am currently trying to find cheap flights for a trip to Thailand in January 2008. I can find loads of cheap flights from London, but the Belfast to London flight seems to add 200-300 pounds to the price of the otherweise same flights. Seems people in Northern Ireland get a bad deal.
I could buy the tickets seperately (which would save me quite a bit), but would prefer the security and convenience of one ticket (checked-through luggage and delayed flights).
Does anyone have a Travel Agent or Ticket agent he could recommend for cheap prices and good service?
Cheers,
DSAB

I am currently looking for reasonable flights to orlando next year, Aptil/May time but flexible. Its a bit overwhelming finding flights with all the different websites/comparision sites out there. Any advice from seasoned Orlando-goers would be greatly appreciated. How much is a good price to pay for a return flight?
NB I rang Thomas cook and flights were £560pp for the start of May!0 -
I flew to Malaysia a couple of times in the past 5 years & personally I'd book them all seperate but allow yourself "LOTS" of time between flights incase schedules change between the 2 carriers.
It's unlikely that you'll be able to book luggage straight thru anyway, for example between the likes of BMIBaby & say Emirates as unless they are affiliated airlines they will no longer accept luggage booked right through (or so they told the wife & I when we flew to NYC from the city airport to Heathrow & on to JFK)0 -
you could try pairing flights up with the new Aer Lingus service to LHR. If you book your flight form LHR onwards with BA or onwards from AMS with KLM you should be able to check you bag in at BFS for the whole journey (even if you've booked 2 separate tickets). I did this a few times from Dub. EI are code-sharing with BA and KLM. Shouldn't cost you more than £80 for the BFS-LHR return leg at the minute. Make sure you leave 2.5hrs between flights min to be safe and take out travel insurance that covers missed connection.Timmay!0

Just booked with AerLingus to go to Florida next year - £350 return for end of april/start of may. Does that seem like a good price?0

The reason we get such a bad deal here is because of all the LCC's we have that don't connect with other major airlines (apart from BMI and maybe aer lingus). So when we want to venture past europes borders we get hammered!:santa2:0

you could travel to london with an LCC and stay overnight in a hotel before travelling onward and it would still be cheaper than what BA used to charge for a connecting flight. LCC's are quite deliberate about not interlining..it keeps the model simple and enables them to offer lower fares..they don't have to worry about missed connections, stray baggage, delays and alikeTimmay!0

I work for a major travel agent specialising in independent travel in Belfast I will not say the name as dont want ppl to think i am plugging it. We have contracted rates that use British Midland, Aer lingus (soon) and Fly be out of Belfast connecting on to long haul flights, They are more expensive out of Belfast simply because there are not as many airlines that fly. however you should still be able to get a through ticket meaning no hassle with picking up bags etc....

Ironically in BFS we are spared the dubious pleasure of interlining bags with BA..the worst offending airline for baggage loss. They still have a mountain of it at LHR, most of which gets sent to auction.Timmay!0
