Universal Credit application

I applied for universal credit 2 days ago and havent recieved a response. Apparently I am supposed to recieve a text message letting me know when to attend an interview. This aint happened. I will contact my local jobcentre tomorow. However they will likely fob me off somehow and will not arrange the interview there and then. How do I make them arrange my interview or whatever so I can start getting payment while I seek work?

Thats the exact number the JC gave me. Wouldnt it be nice if you could go to your local jobcentre and sign on there? It would be even better if they put you forward for interviews etc. Anyway I phoned that number and it turns out there was no record of my claim going through. I will have to re-apply. This I will do Sunday or Monday as Im more likely to miss the phone call over the next couple of days.

I would do the application as soon as possible. I'm not sure if UC is the same as JSA in that it's difficult to get it backdated. If you don't apply until Monday you probably won't be entitled to any payment until then.
Are you aware that you don't get money from UC for a month?

Usually you get the text message either whilst you're on the phone arranging an interview date/time or immediately after, it's an automated confirmation.
The days of just turning up at the jobcentre and signing on are long gone.
