    Next doors garden..
  • To avoid paying the Calor Gas Hire Agreement Fee (which is £29.99)

This is what I have done.....
    • Go to your local Household Waste Recyciling Centre (aka The Tip)
    • Get a calor gas bottle (I picked up a 15Gb Butane one recently that was in good condition) - u may need to pay the man - I paid £5.00
    • If you can get the same as you require for your BBQ it would help as some suppliers only do a like for like swap - although on the Calor website they say an appropriate gas bottle is any of the household bottles (Butane [Blue], Propane [Red], Patio Gas [Green]
    • Then take this bottle to your chosen Gas Agent and swap the "tip" bottle for a new full one and just pay the refill charge (13Kg Patio is currently 18.99 [I paid that last Saturday]- although on the Calor website it says 19.99)
The other altenative to getting a bottle even cheaper is check your local "FreeCycle" group - normally some on there.....

As said my BBQ currently uses Butane, I wanted to get a spare bottle for it so picked up a 15Kg Butane from the tip for a fiver and swapped it for a 7Kg Butane at my local caravan shop. I have since swapped the empty 7Kg Butane for a 13Kg Patio Gas for my Patio Heater.....

    Hope that helps someone...........

PS: Although the bottle from the tip may have some gas (in my case half full) you may not want to trust using it incase the valve has a problem......
What should I put in here that won't upset people.........
