Divorcee complex mortgage issue Help!

Slightly complex but here goes. I am divorced from husband but he continues to pay the mortgage for the next five years. The mortgage is mine and I started off with fixed rate for 3 years. This has now reverted back to 7.8% currently. Being slightly dim on the mortgage front in order to benefit should I leave it at variable rate or re-mortgage for lower fixed rate. Can't see which would work better to my advantage. Would appreciate any advice.

Julie,
Re-mortgage to a better rate fior sure. What you end up with depends on your credit history, size of mortgage, whether you want certaintly of payments etc.
There are products out there that charge arrangement (and other fees) which charge a lower rate than those where you would pay no, or very lttle fees.
If you have a good credit history, the only thing I can say for sure is that they all beat the pants of 7.8%
