Any advice on getting married in Italy cost effectively!?

I'm hoping someone might be able to help me; been engaged for two years and have finally got round to actually planning something now.
We've decided we'd like to get married in Italy; we don't want to have a massive, expensive do so are looking at a group of around 50 close family and friends for a relaxed celebration in the sun. We don't want to spend a huge amount on this which is why we just want our nearest and dearest there so are looking for the most cost effective way to do it.
We're really open to ideas of location in Italy but preferably somewhere relatively easy to travel to as there will be elderly members of the party.
I'd be really grateful for any advice if anyone has had recent experience with something similar.
Thanks in advance!

So you want to take 50 people to another country but want to save money?! Are you joking?
Are the guests buying their own flights and accomodation?
Are you hiring a hotel/hall etc in italy for everyone to stay in or are people expected to make their own way to italy, then find a hotel, then get to the venue etc?
If you want cheap, then 50 guests is far too big. Most abroad weddings have around 10 guests.0 -
Loads of people do this now to save costs on a wedding. Was looking for advice off people who may have actually been in the same boat..luckily the net has lots of great advice!0

Not with 50 guests they don't. Maybe answer the questions I asked, so we can give advice0

Myself and my partner hope to get married in the cinque terre region, specifically vernazza or riogmiaggre. We want to get married in 2019 or 2020 during the summer months (whichever is cheapest). We are looking at a budget or between £6k and £10k (closer to £6k). At present we are at 30 guests but we would have guests sort out their own accommodation or we would buy and sell the rooms to guests. We want something that is typically Italian with a long dinner table and nice lighting. Followed by a nice area to dance and drink. I'd like an idyllic location to actually get married and also basic DJ equipment.
Hope this is enough information at this stage and you can assist us.0 -
Sorry this was a quick post. This is what I have sent out to wedding planners. What do people think? Is it realistic? Has anybody been married in this region?0

Maybe cheap for you but probably costing each couple that attends somewhere in the region of £1000+.
All you are doing is transferring more of the cost of YOUR wedding on to the guests.0
