What it does mean, though, is that you'll need to track down any contracted-out (i.e. company) pensions you'll have somewhere... they may not be much, but if they were earned in your early working life, they may well be better than a kick in the proverbials :D

I have a dodgy "i" key, so ignore spelling errors due to "i" issues, ...I blame Apple :D

The new State Pension is very straightforward for those starting out in their working lives now - 35 years NI gets you the maximum pension (currently £155.65)

When it says £155.65 does it mean you will get the figure that is index linked to that on the day you retire?

The £155.65 is the "standard rate" of nSP and at present will be uprated by the triple lock each year.

If your "Starting Amount" is £155.65 or more (in today's money which the site isn't using yet) the £155.65 will increase by the triple lock and the rest will increase by the CPI as stated above.

When you reach SPa you get the Starting Amount plus any additional entitlement earned by post 2016 contributions which will be nil if your Starting Amount is equal to or greater the maximum.
