Wife Can't Get Credit - No Association

Morning ladies and chaps.
I'm currently undischarged until October. My wife has recently applied for a car lease (personal lease/contract hire, not purchase). She went into referral and then decline. She's well within affordability margins, has never missed a payment on anything, has substantial equity in two houses and is regularly offered credit cards with high credit limits (£10k plus).
She's on the electoral role and the only financial association between the two of us, (a joint bank account used for paying household DD's so no borrowings or overdraft on it) was removed from all credit agencies files last year.
Her rating on Experian is 999 and Equifax shows a similar 99% rating with nothing other than green all over it.
She's had 2 PCPs for cars in the past without any problem at all.
Is there any chance at all that the finance company are looking at my record too and basing their decision on it? It's a sole application in her name, for a car only she will use for commuting to and from her job and as I said, there's no financial association showing on her reports on any of the credit reference agencies.
Comments from anyone who knows very gratefully received.
Thanks as always in advance.

Hi tickles2
Having read your post, nothing is jumping out at me as an alternative explanation for your wife's rejection. It doesn't appear that these payments will stretch her any further than others have done in the past and as the financial connection between you was severed last year, the lender should not be taking your file into account.
It may be worth her while speaking to the credit agencies about adding a Notice of Correction to her report, if only to oblige potential lenders to manually scrutinise the information therein. While the reason for her rejection remains a mystery, she should refrain from making any further applications as the same issue could lead to further rejections and result in a whole bunch of search footprints appearing on her report - this could make it harder still to obtain the product she is seeking.
