I think Very are the worst people to deal with, make sure you keep a record of all dates and times you speak to them. Call then again if not received tomorrow and ask them to email you the response straight away or your going to FOS which will cost them £500. If you don't hear from them in an hour assume the letter was not sent and apply online to FOS again stating the facts. I'm sure Very would rather take your missed payment off than pay £500.

Thank you for taking the time to read and reply to my post
I already threatened them last week with going to the fso and they really were not phased by it so I did already start procedings with fso Friday just gone. I am just awaiting there final decision letter so I can upload that to my case.

I feel a bit guilty about not following this up (mainly after being called a saddo and a troll by a regular; story of my life on this forum!)....

I agree with MortgageMamma in that the company should be fighting your corner, but I also think that you should be building up a case of other obligations you have paid on time without issue. Why? Because your case is possibly a "computer says no" job whereby you need someone to buy into your situation.

I also think that any provider who doesn't fight your corner is possibly similar to very in this instance, in which case you may need to consider another one.

I would be hopeful that MortgageMamma can provide corrections to my post (if needed) or provide further input, and I would also recommend that you Private Message some of them to see if they can help further.

    Don't feel guilty Daytona

Bit of an update for you all went to see my solicitor on Wednesday who phoned very while I was sat in his office. He asked them why they removed the £12 late payment administration charge but not the red mark on credit file?? They had the bare faced cheek to tell him they do it as a gesture of goodwill when a customer closes there account!!! My account is still open while I try to resolve the issue!! He said to them I can see that I am going to be chasing my tail with you good day. He did however offer a sworn affidavit to go with my mortgage application.

Before I saw the solicitor I applied for notice of correction on my credit file this is becoming another joke.

    Me:
I would like to add a notice of correction to my credit report regarding the missed payment from very.co.uk. The missed payment was from my December 2015 statement but the late payment was not added until January 2015

After 7yrs of receiving paper statements for my account with very, Without any consent from myself or notification to myself they switched me from paper statements to online statements resulting in a missed payment for £5.

    Cra:

After looking at the Notice of Correction you’ve sent us, I’m afraid I cannot add this as it may defame third party.

To help you with this, I’ve drafted an alternative statement for you to consider:!

"I believe that the missed payment was from my December 2015 statement and I feel that the late payment was not added until January 2015. !To the best of !my knowledge, !without any consent they switched me from paper statements to online statements resulting in a missed payment for £5. Signed xxxxxxxx

If you’re happy with the above, please let me know and I can get this added for you. If not, please feel free to re-draft another statement and send this to us to take a look at.!

If you still want me to use your original statement, please let me know and I’ll send it to the Information Commissioner for a ruling.

    Me:

    Thank you for your reply!

I do not quite understand how i am going to Defame 3rd party the notice of correction that I am asking to be added is factual, honest and not derogatory to very.co.uk. I am a little bemused as to how a company has to power due to there mistake to ruin my credit report for 6 years but it seems that I am not allowed to name them and give an honest factual view on the matter. There is only one bit of information that I would like to add on please before I request that you forward it to information commissioner for ruling.

    *Notice of Correction request

As requested I’m adding the following statement to your credit report:

To the best of my knowledge, without any consent they switched me from paper statements to online statements resulting in a missed payment for £5. Signed xxxxxx

This’ll appear within the next seven days.

    Me:

This is not what I have asked to add as a notice of correction please refer to my email to yourselves dated 13th April 2014

This is what I want my notice of correction to say. In your last reply you said you would have to refer to comissioner for ruling.

Mail Order Accounts are second only to phone contract in causing problems on credit file.

An awful lot of text above but nothing about the mortgage requirements.

This case can most likely be placed is there is a decent deposit and no other complications.

    Try another broker.

    Little update:

Finally got very to cave in and remove the missed payment from my credit file.

Ditched the financial adviser that was doing nothing but cause hassle. Hubby has now been offered a mortgage alone with Halifax we are just waiting for valuation.
