Aaaagh, I cooked a piece of battered fish in the "brand new" oven the other night and stupidly used the pizza rack (with holes in it) and now the bottom of my oven is black:eek: and I cant get it off, I have tried a conventional oven clean, not Mr Muscle as that left my old oven white...................any tips please
thanks

some ovens have self cleaning panels inside. You have to turn in on a very high heat with nothing in and the panels seem to just burn off spills/food etc.
Dunno if yours would do it if you were to try.I came into this world with nothing and I'm gonna leave with nothing.0 -

I think there are things you can do with a paste of bicarb and water - must be on a thread here somewhere. But I make up a strong solution of bio clothes-washing powder, soak a nasty old towel in it and lie it flat on floor of oven and go out shopping or something. Keep the towel damp with the solution and after about 5 hours min, have a peep and see if you can get the black off. Lakeland do a fab oven liner thing which you put on the floor of your (clean) oven to protect it, and I keep my oven floor OK by using one of those.0
