Do B&Q Price Match their own items?

Options
I know that I am clutching at straws here but worth asking anyway.

A couple of weeks ago I purchased an outdoor table and chair set (new season) from B&Q. I did manage to get the Wednesday 10% discount so I was quite pleased really.

Annoyingly, I see that the item is now being sold for £100 less. I did ask the assistant at the time did he think it might be reduced and he said unlikely as it was the new range.

I know that John Lewis will refund on items they have reduced within a certain period of time and I am wondering if B&Q might do the same.

Unlikely, I know, but, as I said, worth asking on here before I approach them. I can't return the set as it has been set up on my patio - and very nice it looks too. Oh well........

Or you could buy a new one at the reduced price and return it with the full price receipt, Not that I would advocate doing that of course

We once bought a bed in Ikea and the next time we went in it was reduced by £100.

We went to customer services and asked if we had to 'return' said bed i.e. buy another one, and they just gave us a refund without us doing anything.

Good thing too considering how much a fool you would look when a manager just refused to refund you. What would you do with two tables?

    You can ask.

Its incredibly unlikely and not something i saw in the 10+ years i worked there. Only happened a couple of times with staff IIRC.

Sales are generally only announced at most a few weeks before the event (though there is regular patterns, ie garden furniture will always be on 'offer' over the easter period (mightve been delayed a week or so this year because its v early)). So the staff wouldnt know.

For what its worth sales events generally run when you should buy that product. Ie mowers will be reduced spring/summer and then be full normal price autumn/winter. Gas fires will be reduced autumn and rarely on offer any other time. So garden furniture goes on offer whilst its in peak (gardening season). Anything that gets put where the garden furniture goes (the layflat) will get reduced at some point as its normally always seasonal stock.

Why on earth would they refuse a refund? How would you end up with two tables!! B&Q offer a full refund within 45 days policy.

Op just has to buy a new table take it to customer services with the original receipt and they will refund.

I had it delivered and it is unwrapped and been in the rain now. I think I will just accept that I ordered too early and get on with it, maybe learn for another time but thanks everyone for your replies.
