Shoe resoling

Just went to get a pair of leather shoes resoled and reheeled and was quoted £53. Am shocked, last time I got this done I think it was only about £20. This is in London so perhaps it's cheaper elsewhere. Anyway is this now the going rate or is there a way to get it done more cheaply?
Thanks

I'm pretty sure I only paid around £7.50 for a pair of leather boots to be resoled last year. It was definitely under £10 anyway.
This is in a London suburb & the shoe repair man rents space within another retail outlet & I've been going to him for a good few years now. He is far cheaper than what I think of as mainstream repair places, even for other services such as key cutting. The bigger the bargain, the better I feel.
I should mention that there's only one of me, don't confuse me with others of the same name.0 -
I went to a Timpsons in London in 2013 and was charged £30 for leather soles on my boots (size UK 6) but that was 2.5 years ago so am not sure what they charge now, hope it hasn't gone up that much, it'd almost be cheaper to buy new boots!0
